The Lion

This lion was spotted right next to our safari trail, after the lions has supposedly gone missing and had not been sighted since a week ago. This was the big, dominant pride of lions that had maybe gone on a big hunting trip to hunt maybe a giraffe. Once we sighted them we saw what they were playing around with, a skull. After that everyone was wondering why they had the skull and if it was a prize from the supposed hunting trip. I was really confused why they would just be sitting there tossing around a skull, but I guess i’ll never know why.
This is a young mischievous lion who wants to play with his mom, but she doesn’t want to play with him. Later this lion is seen in a cloud of dust playing with her, but rather fiercely. He is also a young male, so if he doesn’t claim the pride he will most likely be kicked out. Everyone was pretty sure he was one of the young males that was tossing around the skull. I thought it was pretty funny seeing them playing and having fun, but not in the way a human would think of playing.

Lion Facts: Lions only live 10-14 years on average. Also the males are significantly larger than the females.
